MailMerge - date format

I am using Merge mail to issue some payment reminder. One of my dates remains in the number format, even tough I am using the same formula as the other dates.

and it becomes: 11 June 2020

but I am getting

the format of the cells in Excel is Shortdate for both of them, so I really do not understand where the problem is.

That must be a formatting issue only with the cells where date is specified. You can use =TEXT(A1,'DD-MM-YYYY") and check if it solves your issues..

Your DATE field ({DATE \@ "dd MMMM yyyy"}) is not a MERGEFIELD - it is a DATE field.
Your 'Deadline' field isn't a MERGEFIELD either - as a MERGEFIELD the field code would read {MERGEFIELD Deadline \@ "dd MMMM yyyy"}.

In all likelihood, you're getting the error because the workbook is open when you're doing the merge.

Contrary to what ashakantasharma has posted, the formatting in Excel is unlikely to be the issue.
