If you have ever created a link from one cell to another and then you move the cell or add a new line for example, the hyperlink refers back to the original reference point.

Example:
- Cell A1 (Sheet 1) links to Cell D9 (Sheet 5).
- you insert a new line above D9 (Sheet 5) so the contents of D9 are now D10
- The link on A1 (sheet 1) will still reference back to D9 (Sheet 5) not follow the contents to D10 (Sheet 5)

A simple fix:
1. select the cell
2. click the name box (top left corner)
3. rename cell
4. create link - choose "place on document"
5. scroll down to "Defined Names" and select the name of the cell you created

now when you move that cell the link will follow.

Example:
1. Select Cell D9 (Sheet 5)
2. click name box
3. Rename cell to abcd123
4. click on cell A1 (sheet 1) and create link
5. select abcd1234 under "defined names"

now when you move cell D9 (sheet 5) the link will follow it because it is locked to the cell name.

How can you turn a range sideways?
Copy the range. Select a blank cell. Right-click, Paste Special, then choose Transpose.

my mistake typo abcd123 not abcd1234 .... under the example in final step 5 should read:

5. select abcd123 under "defined names"
