I would like to copy cells with conditional formatting and paste them into another worksheet but retain the conditional formats. Note that the original conditional format uses a cell reference that is lost using copy and paste.

Thank you very much!

Customize Quick Access Toolbar. From All Commands, add Speak Cells or Speak Cells on Enter to QAT. Select cells. Press Speak Cells.
Are you using the correct absolute references on the cells your conditional formatting?

Do you have an example?

Forgot, I'm not copying the cell referred to in the conditional format formula. Only the cells with the conditional format that I would like to retain.

Cells in a row - A1, B1, C1, D1, E1 contain a conditional formula that reverses out type when referred to value in cell G1...

G1 = the text "GONE"
A1 thru E1 Conditional format formulafor =$G1="GONE", Then reverse out the type.
If G1 is other than "GONE" then the format for A1 thru E1 does not change.

I want to keep the type reversed out, or some other easy format to separate the values, when I copy A1 thru E1 to another spreadsheet, (without taking the reference in G1 with it).

There are hundreds of rows that I need to copy for other purposes but need to know which rows were highlighted.

Thanks again!
