Hello, Im using Excel 03. I would like to know if their is a way to turn a cell red if the same data is put in a different cell in the same column.
Example

A1 = 1

A2 = 2

A3 = 3 < Cell would turn red

A4 = 3 < Cell would turn red

A5 =6

A6 = 2 < this and A2 would turn red
<CELL cell would so and red turn p A2< A2<CELL also>
I will be using letters not numbers.
Thanks in advance

Excel Facts

Round to nearest half hour?
Use =MROUND(A2,"0:30") to round to nearest half hour. Use =CEILING(A2,"0:30") to round to next half hour.
ALSO sorry it doesent have to be the same cell that turns red, it can be the cell next to the data cell. Like column B cells could turn red. A macro that could do this would work also.
thanks

Hi,

I am using Excel 2007 in which there is an option within the conditional formating menu to highlight duplicate values within a range. Sorry but I am unsure if this option exists in 2003 - go to the conditional formatting menu using shortcut sequence Alt + O + D once you have selected your range.

If this doesnt exist, you can use ASAP utilities see the following link http://www.mrexcel.com/forum/showthread.php?t=126629.

There is an option to colour duplicate values within a given range. The only downfall of this option is that you need to have a complete data set first i.e it will not update as duplicates are input.

Hope this helps

thanks, I will try ASAP. I have 2007 at home but at work we only have 03. I wonder if I make it in 07 and save it in 03 format if it will still work?
Thanks again.

On second note it does with with 03.
