Is there any way to change the text in the Excel menu bar? Currently it shows "Microsoft Excel - filename.xls" and I would like it to display a text string stored in a cell in my workbook. I can use the status bar, but am using it for other purposes.

Any assistance appreciated.

Last used cell?
Press Ctrl+End to move to what Excel thinks is the last used cell.
This gets the current window caption and holds it, then it is changed. The MsgBox is to pause the code so you can see the change. Then the Old caption is put back, before the code exit.

Sub myCap()
Dim myOldCap$

Sheets("Sheet1").Select
myOldCap = ActiveWindow.Caption
ActiveWindow.Caption = "This is a test!"

MsgBox "The active window caption is: " & vbLf & ActiveWindow.Caption & vbLf & _
vbLf & "The old window caption was: " & vbLf & myOldCap

ActiveWindow.Caption = myOldCap

End Sub
