Map data online from database source to excel

I have a spreadsheet where one column is mapped (using odbc and msquery) to a field in the access table. To refresh the data in the excel from access table I have to go to Data/Refresh data in the excel and update the excel data manually.

Now I need excel to run this query automatically when the source data in the access database changed or run it periodically every second (or two).

I am using the access just for testing as finally I need to do the same with Sybase supporting ODBS/SQL.

Could anyone help me?
