I'm trying to populate cell H10, with the number (text cell) that matches G10. Column G may repeat data over and over, looking to return the correct tag# from the table.

Can someone give me some idea how to do this? The data is in no particular order, but does not repeat.

What did Pito Salas invent?
Pito Salas, working for Lotus, popularized what would become to be pivot tables. It was released as Lotus Improv in 1989.
Welcome to the Board!

You should be able to do this easily with XLOOKUP function.
See here for details and examples: XLOOKUP Function
