Hey guys.. I also posted this on excelforum.com.. but didnt seem to get feedback after a bunch of views.. I'm wondering if its because I am asking for something that isnt possible at all.. Please help me. I need a formula that I can drag out to the entire 3rd sheet of the file (area with question marks).

This is the link with the attachment:

http://www.excelforum.com/excel-gen...ch-and-calculate-between-multiple-sheets.html

so the link above has the attachment of the file that explains what I need.. likely better than i can do in words... here is the explanation:

"I need help creating a formula.. im assuming I have to use vlookup, index, match in some sort of array formula or possibly a macro… Please see example sheet attached in case i'm not explaining well enough..

So I have a dish such as falafel wrap.. I want to figure out how much chickpea im using inside of it. (The result has to go on sheet 3 in the cross section of chickpea and falafel wrap. and where ever else i have the question marks). This number has to come from combining the data in sheet 1 and sheet2… I have to first get the number of how much I have in the falafel wrap of each prepared ingredients in sheet 2.. and then see if these ingredients contain chickpea and how much.. then multiply.. so as a result I can see how much chickpea my falafel wrap contains altogether (and do the same for all the other ingredients of course). Can this be done with an array formula or a macro? is it even possible?

Thank you so much for you help.."

ps.: can i attach a file on this forum?

When did Power Query debut in Excel?
Although it was an add-in in Excel 2010 & Excel 2013, Power Query became a part of Excel in 2016, in Data, Get & Transform Data.
Hi,

I couldn't get to the file at the other address - looks like I had to register to do so. It sounds like what is wanted can be done without formulas and without macros, using a query table. Basically like a database query. If you can post some sample data & further description I can confirm.

Thank you for your help.. if there is any place i can send an attachment, just let me know..

So in the file.. there are three sheets ... the last sheet is the one that needs the formulas deriving data from both previous sheets..

to explain the process.. I have two layers of preparation... first you prepare in the morning in batches out of the raw ingredients (thats sheet one).. then you make the dish out of the prepared ingredients (sheet two).. and now I want to know how much of each raw ingredient end up my dishes once the prepared ingredients are combined (sheet three area with questinon marks).

in other words.. i make the falafel balls in the morning out of a number of raw ingredients.. .. then I make the dough.. etc they both let's say contain salt.. I want to be able to automatically figure out that with those two ingredients combined.. how much salt I would have in my falafel wrap alltogether once i have to make the dish.. thats the data that should go in the third sheet.

Is that possible to do automatically with an array formula or macro??

I really appreciate your help...
