A | B | C | D | E | F | G | H | I | |
1 | Reference Number | Numeral1 | Something | Else | Numeral2 | Other | Baloney | Numeral3 | Whatever |
2 | C101 | 5 | &c. | &c. | 5 | &c. | &c. | 6 | &c. |
3 | C102 | 8 | &c. | &c. | 7 | &c. | &c. | 9 | &c. |
4 | C103 | 13 | &c. | &c. | 13 | &c. | &c. | 16 | &c. |
How would I return the "9", which is the MAX out of columns B, E and H only for reference number C102?
Thus far, I have come up with an array which extracts the required columns (because there are other numbers in contiguous columns which shouldn't be considered) but I'm not sure how to go about the rest:
{=CHOOSECOLS(Sheet1!$A$1:$I$4,1,2,5,8)}
Hope you can help!
