I know that if I was starting this project from scratch I wouldn’t be in this mess, and I would have done about this in a different way, but I am where I am. – not waving but drowning.

I have a considerable amount of text data in cells, all neatly aligned in columns. The size of the data varies from 1 character (there is always a value in the cells) up to a whopping 2500 characters in the cells.

If I copy the data all the data is copied – although only the first 255 characters are displayed.

If I copy the data into Word, all the data is copied.

However, I am using a pivot table to analyse the data, pick out key words, and group by age, gender (we don’t have sex anymore), post codes etc. My problem is that once I’ve used a pivot table, it cuts off the size of the text box at 255 characters.

How can I get back all the characters of the cells?

Would a vertical lookup table help?

Fastest way to copy a worksheet?
Hold down the Ctrl key while dragging tab for Sheet1 to the right. Excel will make a copy of the worksheet.
