Obviously, i could concoct something myself, but is there any function i could use in excel already?

Thanks!

Excel Facts

Back into an answer in Excel
Use Data, What-If Analysis, Goal Seek to find the correct input cell value to reach a desired result
If "P" is the Value at the start of the number of periods, and "Sp" is the Value at the end, then if "n" is the number of periods and the percentage return = "r" ,then:-
Rich (BB code):
 r = [(Sp/P)^(1/n)]-1
So "P" would = your first value , "Sp" the last and "n" the number of "Weeks" "Months" or years your working with.
