I have to databases I need to pull information from using a common number. I thought i might be able to use VLOOKUP but I've tried and have been unsuccessful. Most likely because you have to have your lookup data in the first column, which it is not. I have one file that contains about 33,000 items with each item having close to 80 pieces. Then i have another file that has around 300 items with about 40 peices. First thing i want to do is find the 300 items that are contained within the 33,000 and then i'll need to pull some other data from the 33,000. Any suggestions on how to get started on this?

What is the shortcut key for Format Selection?
Ctrl+1 (the number one) will open the Format dialog for whatever is selected.
Do you have a unique field for each record? If so, you can use Lookup instead of VLookup. If not, use the Find method...
