Hi,

I am struggling to remember how to convert a number in a column (1) to (Jan)

For example in Column A I have a list numbers ranging from 1 to 12 (Jan to Dec) In Column B I want a formula to convert them into "MMM".

Please remind me.

Thanks

Gavin

Excel Facts

Move date out one month or year
Use =EDATE(A2,1) for one month later. Use EDATE(A2,12) for one year later.

Your formula in B1 would be =TEXT(DATE(YEAR(TODAY()),A1,1),"MMM")

Another alternative:

Excel Workbook
AB
11Jan
22Feb
33Mar
44Apr
55May
66Jun
77Jul
88Aug
99Sep
1010Oct
1111Nov
1212Dec
Sheet2

Formula in B1 copied down to B12.

Richard, sorry to go off track here. I noticed that you have Excel Jeanie only displaying one formula rather than the formulas for the whole column. Is this a setting within Jeanie or have you just replaced the other formulas with values before posting?
