Moving data from userform to a cell

I am new to VBA and have an issue with transferring answers from a userform to the spreadsheet. 1 to 3 employees can share equally the commission earned on a job. There are 3 fields on the userform to enter their names. I can get the input for each of these fields moved into their respective cells, I want to use the CountA function to return the number of staff that is entitled to the commission (1, 2, or 3). The problem is the function returns the number 3 regardless of how many of the 3 cells actually have names so apparently the cells that have no name are still not empty and thus added to the count. Is there a way to make sure that the cells are empty if no name is entered I. The form?
