Hello!

I have a scatter plot in which I have two series of data. There is a trendline for one series. I wish to move the data points for the second data series to sit on top of the trendline for the first data series without changing the trendline. When I try and drag the data points over, the trendline changes. Any suggestions??

Excel Facts

Round to nearest half hour?
Use =MROUND(A2,"0:30") to round to nearest half hour. Use =CEILING(A2,"0:30") to round to next half hour.
How are you moving the data for the 2nd series? Do the two series share a common reference, such as x-values range?

I am moving the second data series points by clicking on them in my chart and simply dragging them over. In order to add the second data series onto my chart I made it so that the two sets of data series share common x-axis values. However, in my experiment, the x-axis values are unknown for the second data series and I am trying to determine that by moving the data points onto the trendline.

So, when you change the x-value of the point in the 2nd series, doesn't that affect the corresponding point in the 1st series? And, wouldn't you expect that to affect the trendline?
