MTD Formula compare "This Year" vs. "Last Year" MTD

I'm in need of a formula that will help me automate the MTD "This Year" vs. "Last Year" sales comparison.

For example sake, I have all of February 2010's sales by day dollars filled in, Feb 1- Feb 28 in column 1, and Sales in column 2.

I'm now trying to compare This year's sales through yesterday Feb 26th, and also have excel pull in the same MTD sales through the 26th last year. I'm Stuck!

Any solutions please??
