Can someone please help

I have 5 columns in my table

A Order #
B Order date
C Pick/pack date
D Dispatch date
E Status

I want the 'status' column (E) to return:
"order placed", when there is a date only in column B
"order packed" when there is a date in column B and C
"order dispatched" when there is a date in columns B, C and D

I can do it with the resulting individual status in separate columns using =IF(AND( but can't seem to combine the various possibilities in one column

I'm using MS 2016 and don't want to use VBA and am having trouble downloading
XL2BB but will keep trying

Thanks in advance

Excel Facts

Select a hidden cell
Somehide hide payroll data in column G? Press F5. Type G1. Enter. Look in formula bar while you arrow down through G.
I'm using MS 2016

I suggest that you update your Account details (or click your user name at the top right of the forum) so helpers always know what Excel version(s) & platform(s) you are using as the best solution often varies by version. (Don’t forget to scroll down & ‘Save’)

How about
Excel Formula:
=IF(B2&C2&D2="","",IF(C2&D2="","order placed",IF(D2="","order packed","order dispatched")))
