This should be simple, but I can't seem to come up with the correct formulas, so your help is appreciated.
On sheet one of the workbook is the yearly budget. Sheets 2-12 are monthly dollar amounts spent each month on the budget items. Each month I need a percentage of the budget amount that was spent. Jan. is simple, but for Feb. through Dec. how to I get the Budget YTD to multiple itself according to which month it is i.e. Feb. would be Budget amount times 2, Mar. would be Budget amount times 3 etc. Then I need to add the monthly budget items for however many months are appropriate and come up with a continuing monthly percentage of what was spent YTD for each item. I.E.
Phone Expense is budgeted at $120 per month. We spend $90 in January on phone, so the percentage should read 75%. Then in February the budgeted YTD is $240, we spent $105 in February, so the percentage should read 81.25%.
Thanks is advance,
Hozey
