My Pivot Table is counting blank cells and I do not want it to

I have data that need to be included in the pivot table that I submit quarterly. This data is placeholder data so that all of the months of the year will show up in the report. I do not want the pivot table to count them as being a "delivery". I have a formula in the total field of the table that says if a part of this placeholder data is "", then be "". But the pivot table counts the formula. If I delete the formula in the placeholder data, the problem is solved. No more counts of placeholder data, but I want my column to have the formula no matter what so that the integrity of my table is intact.

Does anyone know how to get the pivot table to stop counting the placeholder data with formulas without deleting the formulas or filtering out blanks (I need the data in the pivot for the report to be formatted correctly)?
