I have a 70KB Excel file. I add a 136KB photo to it. Instead on combining to be a 206KB file size it mysteriously balloons to a humongious 3.34MB file. This has stumped me so can someone shed any light on this? I did save the photo for the web at a very low size so my attachment to an email would be faster. Am I missing something here guys?

Excel Facts

Bring active cell back into view
Start at A1 and select to A9999 while writing a formula, you can't see A1 anymore. Press Ctrl+Backspace to bring active cell into view.
You copied and pasted the picture into Excel, right? For some reason, when you do this Windows converts the image over to a bmp file, thus taking up more space. You can try copying and then doing an Edit, Paste Special command and seeing what options it gives you. Or you can use Insert, Picture, From File and then select the file. This should save it into Excel in the same file format as the original image file.

Let me know if that works for you,
Joe

I 'inserted' the photo, although I have pasted in the past with no problems. This combo blows up like a bomb for some reason. I have tried all combinations all day long and this is stumping the dickense out of me!
