Hi

I have a management reporting workbook which has about 50 sheets which query our SQL Server database to build a monthly reporting pack.

One of these sheets became corrupted so I'm trying to recreate the query. I deleted the corrupted sheet and rebuilt the query. When I try to give the query the same name as the corrupted query I keep getting the message "A query with this name already exists on this sheet". I gave the query a different name and then tried the rename in Excel without success. I've also tried to change the name using the licensed version of NameManager included in FastExcel. This changes the name of the range extracted but destroys the query.

I want to keep the name as I have a lot of macros which expect my query names to follow my naming convention. The many Excel books I have are all silent about this problem. Any help would be much appreciated.

I'm using xL 2003 but have tried the build/name/rename in xL2010 with similar results.

Regards

Workdays for a market open Mon, Wed, Friday?
Yes! Use "0101011" for the weekend argument in NETWORKDAYS.INTL or WORKDAY.INTL. The 7 digits start on Monday. 1 means it is a weekend.
Not totally sure if this will help, but you might try going into Defined Names and see if the "old" query is listed under the name you are using. You might be able to delete it there and then set up the new query again.

I think that sometimes they get stuck in there even after you delete the query.

Hope this helps!
