i found this formula to tell me what day Thanksgiving is depending on year

=DATE(Z8,11,1)+IF(5<WEEKDAY(DATE(Z8,11,1)),7-WEEKDAY(DATE(Z8,11,1))+5,5-WEEKDAY(DATE(Z8,11,1)))+((4-1)*7)

You mean the day after?

Like this?

=DATE(Z8,11,1)+IF(WEEKDAY(DATE(Z8,11,1)),7-WEEKDAY(DATE(Z8,11,1))+5,5-WEEKDAY(DATE(Z8,11,1)))+((4-1)*7)+1

sorry incomplete formula

=DATE(Z8,11,1)+IF(5greater than WEEKDAY(DATE(Z8,11,1)),7-WEEKDAY(DATE(Z8,11,1))+5,5-WEEKDAY(DATE(Z8,11,1)))+((4-1)*7)
To avoid the incomplete formula problem, select the formula and click the 'Code' button above the window you are typing in. If you are using the 'Quick Reply' window then this button does not appear but you can type the word code enclosed in square brackets before your formula and type /code enclosed in square brackets after your formula. Your formula would then look like this
Code:
=DATE(Z8,11,1)+IF(5>WEEKDAY(DATE(Z8,11,1)),7-WEEKDAY(DATE(Z8,11,1))+5,5-WEEKDAY(DATE(Z8,11,1)))+((4-1)*7)

=DATE(Z8,11,1)+IF(5greater than WEEKDAY(DATE(Z8,11,1)),7-WEEKDAY(DATE(Z8,11,1))+5,5-WEEKDAY(DATE(Z8,11,1)))+((4-1)*7)

This formula appears to give Thanksgiving as 30th November for this year. My understanding is that Thanksgiving is the 4th Thursday in November (in the US) which would make it 23rd November 2006.

To get the day after Thanksgiving when year is in Z8

=DATE(Z8,11,29)-WEEKDAY(DATE(Z8,12,1))+1
