Hi,
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p> </o:p>
I wanted to extract number with version dynamically.
<o:p> </o:p>
Like YBR 5.11 Release Ans should be :- 5.11
TBA 4.x Version Ans should be :- 4.X
TKSTBA55.xwtVersion Ans should be :-55.xwt<o:p></o:p>

Thanks & Regards,
Kashif.

Excel Facts

Which came first: VisiCalc or Lotus 1-2-3?
Dan Bricklin and Bob Frankston debuted VisiCalc in 1979 as a Visible Calculator. Lotus 1-2-3 debuted in the early 1980's, from Mitch Kapor.
What's the exact rule for determining where the version number can be found?

You're going to have to tell us what the rule is if you want us to produce the formula, otherwise we're just guessing. If you don't know your data, how can we know? (I wish there was a =MAYBE function in Excel!)

For example, the first two examples have spaces which we can use but the last one does not. Is that a typo?

Is the rule: "the third word"? Or "the first word which starts with a number"? Or "the word immediately before Release or Version"? Or "the first/last word with a dot in it"?
