need help with spreadsheet ,PLEASE!

ok what im trying to do it i have a positive figure in coloum a and a negative in coulom b and i want colum c to have the answer to the rows figures in each cell but in cell 2 it will have a add of 1&2 and then cell 3 with have a total of cells 1&2&3 , is this posible?if so please help , Needed asap

Try putting the formula =A1+B1 in cell C1.
Then copy that cell and paste it to the other cells in column C.

That is an example of relative referencing, one of Excel's most powerful features.

nope it only adds a1 + b1 i want C1 to add a1 and b2 and c2 to add a1 and b1 and b2 and a2 and so on..

put =SUM($A$1:B1) in C1
copy cell C1
paste it into C2.
C2 should hold the formula =SUM($A$1:B2)
Paste it into C3 and the formula should become =SUM($A$1:B3)

(the equals sign should be part of what is typed into the cell)
