I want to permanently hide the status bar every time i start Excel 2010. I read that the following macro in VBA can do that. But the macro doesnt save and each time I start Excel, it doesnt hide it. I'm a noob. I dont know if this is the correct way of hiding it. But how can I permanently hide the status bar?

Sub Hide_Status_Bar()
Application.DisplayStatusBar = False
End Sub

Excel Facts

Enter current date or time
Ctrl+: enters current time. Ctrl+; enters current date. Use Ctrl+: Ctrl+; Enter for current date & time.
If you go to Excel>Preferences>View, there is a Show Status Bar checkbox that you can un check.
