And have a question already :)

I am looking to find out how to do the following in Excel 2003

If I enter a + sign in Excel, I want the cell to show a green tick
If I enter 2 + signs into excel, I want the cell to show 2 green ticks and so on.
Also, if I enter a - (minus) sign in a cell, I want the cell to show a red cross, and if I enter 2 - (minus) signs in a cell, I want it to show 2 red crosses.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What does custom number format of ;;; mean?
Three semi-colons will hide the value in the cell. Although most people use white font instead.
The easiest way is to change the font and then use conditional formatting to set the colour.
There is a font that gives ticks and crosses but they are not attached to + and - (plus and minus).
