As the title implies, I am a bit of a novice when it comes to VBA. I have however been using Excel in my job for a number of years and I feel that I am fairly proficient.

I have recently started a new job and I would like to make a few changes to the way some of the data is collected, which I have outlined below.

Sites email in data (on standard format sheets) which is then input into central spreadsheets. There are quite a number of sites and each send a number of spreadsheets for collation into the central files. As you can imagine this is a very manual process which I feel is perfectly suited to automation. I have suggested linking the files or using lookups to collate the data but this has met with resistance due to the size of the files that would be created. I therefore would like to use VBA to automate the process.

I would appreciate some advice on where to start. I have bought a few books on VBA but I am having trouble in learning the syntax and getting things to work properly.

Thanks in advance

Matt
