Mainly for work use (but also as an exercise) I've been trying to create a label template in Excel.
At work we regularly need to print off a series of adhesive labels, for the use of labelling up pallets / containers with sequential identification numbers (e.g. 'Pallet 1', 'Pallet 2', etc.)
The intention with this template was for the user to only be required to simply enter the range of numbers required (e.g. 1-9, 1-50, 51-60, etc.) and just hit print to print off the required labels.
Obviously, the number of labels required to be printed off would vary as per requirements. What I wanted from this template was for there be no need for the user to constantly set and reset print areas according to need - the template would automatically only print off the labels that were required. I had hoped to achieve this using conditional formatting to blank off the superfluous labels - i.e. if only labels containing numbers '1-5' were required then the cells containing label 6 onward would be completely blanked out.
This has been achieved, but I had not taken into account the fact that Excel will try and 'print' pages containing text/formulas even if the text is formatted to appear blank.
Is there anyway to set a workbook so that blank pages (but containing text & formulas) are not printed off? Without having to continually change the print area?
Thx
