Hi all,

Hope someone can help with this. I've googled and searched but not been able to find quite what I'm after.

I have a alpha numeric string : A12345678911212

I want to return just the 8th and 9th number along (it will always be a number). Any ideas on a formula?

Thanks for any help.

Is there a shortcut key for strikethrough?
Ctrl+S is used for Save. Ctrl+5 is used for Strikethrough. Why Ctrl+5? When you use hashmarks to count |||| is 4, strike through to mean 5.
Is the format always the same?
1 Alpha character then 14 numeric characters?

If so, try

=MID(A1,10,2)
