Number Format change to Accounting every time

Hi, Can anyone tell me why the numbers on my excel workbook keeps changing to accounting format? sometimes I changed them back to General and saved it, and then some days later, it will change to accounting format again which is so annoying.... there has got to be a way for this. Help !!!
