Number of months between 2 dates

Hi -I'm trying to find a forumla that returns the number of months, pro-rated, between two dates:

Date 1: 12/31/2011
Date 2: 03/16/2011

All the formulas that I used return 9 or 10 but none that returns 9.5 months or something similar.

Any idea?
