number records in a database

hi,

i would like to check how many records i have in a database in a table [table_row_data]


i want to do this in Excel.

i managed to write the code to open the database,

i would like to use a message box in excel so when a user presses a button will prompt the number of records existing in the specified table

select count(*) from your_table_name

then instead of putting the recordset's contents onto the spreadsheet, display it with Msgbox
