Odd pivot table

I have a pivot table that is acting weird. My source data has a column that has 2 values, either 2010-11 or 2011-05. I have that column as part of my filter on the pivot table. When I hit the drop down to select one of those 2 choices, my choices are:
2011-05 and 2011-11
I have no 2011-11 in my source data!

I refreshed, saved, copied the workbook to a new file with no luck. I disconnected the pivot table from the source data and reconnected, now my choices
are 2011-05 and 2011-052.

Something is corrupt, I get the same behavior on other pivot tables using the same source data. Any ideas for solutions?

thanks

Excel Facts

Why does 9 mean SUM in SUBTOTAL?
It is because Sum is the 9th alphabetically in Average, Count, CountA, Max, Min, Product, StDev.S, StDev.P, Sum, VAR.S, VAR.P.
Show your source data. And tell what formatting is applied ( if numeric ) or confirm that it's text.

Last night I figured out my pivot tables were corrupted, no matter how I re-established the data link, it came out messed up. I ended up deleting the pivot tables and recreating them seems to have fixed the problem. A co-worker said he has had similar issues with Excl 2007 and its memory leaks.

Me too! I discovered that even after deleting my source data ( a named range) and refreshing all the tables, there are still "remnants" left over, in my case some of the drop downs still showed choices that were no longer part of the source data.
