I have searched the site regarding passwords, but it mainly about breaking them. In this case I know the password but do not want to let everyone else know:

I have an excel sheet with a hyperlink to a Word document that has a password on it. Is there a way to allow people to open this document without knowing the password. ie instead of a hyperlink, a macro that opens the document and inputs the password (which I know).

Ta in advance,
James

Fastest way to copy a worksheet?
Hold down the Ctrl key while dragging tab for Sheet1 to the right. Excel will make a copy of the worksheet.
I think this works..

Dim myWord As Object
Set myWord = CreateObject("Word.Application")
myWord.Visible = True
myWord.Documents.Open FileName:="C:mydirectorymyfile.doc", password:="whatever"

Sub Word()
Dim myWord As Object

Set myWord = CreateObject("Word.Application")
myWord.Visible = True
myWord.Documents.Open FileName:="C:IntTrainTemplate.doc", Passworddocument:="Ian"

Set myWord = Nothing

End Sub

you need Passworddocument to open it, other argueements are:

PasswordDocument Optional Variant. The password for opening the document.

PasswordTemplate Optional Variant. The password for opening the template.

WritePasswordDocument Optional Variant. The password for saving changes to the document.

WritePasswordTemplate Optional Variant. The password for saving changes to the template.
