Hello,

I have had a look online and searched this website to see how I can open two excel 2007 documents across two screens.

I read one way, where I maximise the main Excel and minimise the documents so I can move them around. This is ok, but I thought there maybe a better way?

I also found a way where I got to Excel Options - Advanced - General and select 'ignore other applications that use dynamic data exchange'. This works, but I am then unable to open documents as it can't find the location and I also can't export anything from one of our systems, again to do with the location of the document.

Any help or ideas, or are these the only two options I have?

Thanks.

Excel Facts

Repeat Last Command
Pressing F4 adds dollar signs when editing a formula. When not editing, F4 repeats last command.
Have Excel span the screens and open both your documents, and do View/Arrange All/Vertical.

Yes, start two separate instances of excel then in each, open one of the files

This method is very stable

the other option mentioned by artic is selecting... office button/excel options/advanced/General /"Ignore other app ...dde"
But can be unstable (some workbooks open without a control box etc)
upto you

I constantly have to help users that have opened multiple instances of Excel and can't understand why they can't copy formulas from one book to another.
