When I click on Create -> Query Design, the Show Table dialog box opens up. Is there a way to prevent this from happening? I prefer to drag my tables into the Query Desgin area. And if so, would this affect SQL View queries adversely (meaning, would I not be able to set up tables for SQL queries without this dialog box)?

Can you sort left to right?
To sort left-to-right, use the Sort dialog box. Click Options. Choose "Sort left to right"
No, there is nothing you can do about that. Sorry. The Show Table dialog box will show up whenever you click Create > Query Design. There is no setting to not have it do that. I know it can be annoying but it is what it is.

I noticed today that using the escape key will close the dialog box, which may be a little faster (I often have to close it too, though in my case because I want to get to SQL view and paste a query text in).
