Overscore

Excel Facts

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.
In Roman Numerals there is a Bar over V. That repesents 5000. I want to be able to print the letter V with a bar over it as one single character just a you can underline something by clicking on the U.

Having trouble with the Symbols Font. Everytime I type "`V" It change to another Font Type which contains no overscore. I do not want to go thru all the fonts to find the one with overscores so could someone tell me which Font in Symbols contains Overscores.

Only the first character is in Symbol font. Change the second character to any font you like (e.g., whatever you use for Normal).

If you're editing the cell, insert the character after the V, then delete the V:

'V => 'VA => 'A

Why insert and then delete again shg?

I tried it before posting th elink to verify that it worked, all I did was select the symbol font, press ` return to calibri font, then press V

It doesn't show while the cursor is still in the cell, but when you press return the fonts "merge".

When you type ` into Symbols it takes you to the font: AcadEref. It does not have any Alphabets with bars over them and there are no "V" in there plus the "A" that is there does not print out with a bar over it. How do I get an overscore?

Click in a cell

Set its font to Symbol

Type ` in the cell - DO NOT PRESS THE ENTER KEY (Leave Undone, in Suspense)

But then,

Set the font to Arial or whatever

Type V in the cell. NOW PRESS THE ENTER KEY (Commit).

Does that Help?
