I have a long list of error. I need to make a separate vlook table. For example, in the example below. I want to make a lookup table that says: "Only one allowed per shipment" and then I want my formula to ignore the "supplier","warehouse" and "product" part in the table below give me "1" as the error reason. I tried doing partial text but seems like it works better for continous words. Can you please help me.

Error Error Number
Only one supplier is allowed per shipment1
Only one warehouse allowed per shipment 1
Only one product allowed per shipment1

Excel Facts

Which came first: VisiCalc or Lotus 1-2-3?
Dan Bricklin and Bob Frankston debuted VisiCalc in 1979 as a Visible Calculator. Lotus 1-2-3 debuted in the early 1980's, from Mitch Kapor.
Welcome to the MrExcel board!

Your requirement is completely unclear to me. Perhaps you could give some small sample data and expected result(s) with XL2BB and explain again in relation to that sample data.
