password protected file and can't remember password

Is there any way to open a file that is password protected and I can't remember the password? When I try to open it I just get the prompt to enter the password and I don't know what it is. Any thoughts?

Sorry about that. I didn't know I couldn't ask about that. So are you saying the only way for me to open this file is "break" the password somehow? I thought maybe there'd be a nice way around the password somehow but I guess not?

If there was a nice easy way, it wouldn't be very effective, would it?
