Percentages in formulas

I posted a similar problem earlier, but now I have another problem!
I need a formula to work out a percentage of a total, however this percentage can change and is not fixed. For example.

I need to minus 12% from the total of £8.75. The percentage can differ. How can I do this?

The second part of my original answer can be used in reverse although you don't say if the Percentages AND values change.

Let's say

Col A = Amount
Col B = Percentage

The formula you need in Col C is

(A1/100)*(100-B1)

If the Percentage stays the same put the percentage in B1
and in Col B the formula in Col C needs to be

(A1/100)*(100-$B$1)

If the Amount stays the same put the Amount in A1
and in Col B the formula in Col C needs to be

($A$1/100)*(100-B1)


That OK for you?
