PERCENTILE.INC calculations on subsets of data

Dear MrExcel,

I am trying to find a way to use excel to calculate P50's
E.g. =PERCENTILE.INC(N, 0.5) for sub sets of data. The data, in its simplest form, is a series of values (Days Open) associated with a Quarter.
What I need to do is to calculate the P50 of 'Days Open' for each Quarter.

My current solution is to 'unstack' the data in Minitab (so that I have it broken out by Qrt), paste the columns back into excel and then do a P50 calc for each column. This process is however, cumbersome as my actual data set is ~30,000 lines and has multiple subsets (E.g. Qtr, REGION, TYPE), with different amounts of data in each subset, that all need to be evaluated.

Ideally I would like to be able to do this in a Pivot or Powerpivot table.
