Permission On a Network Drive Excel File

In my office we use network drive where authorized users has access. How does the excel user permission structure work? Is it possible to allow certain users to allow to read/write access a particular excel file?

Excel Facts

Did you know Excel offers Filter by Selection?
Add the AutoFilter icon to the Quick Access Toolbar. Select a cell containing Apple, click AutoFilter, and you will get all rows with Apple
