I have a large, complex dashboard-style report full of different sized tables and charts. To get around the problem of displaying multiple tables on one page with varying column widths and cell sizes, I have used the 'paste picture link' function in Excel. However, when I print the report to a pdf file, and open the pdf file on my computer, the resolution or clarity of the numbers and text is extremely poor - characters appear blurred even when the zoom is increased. If I print the pdf file to a printer, the clarity is usually much better, though could be improved.
Is there any way I can improve the appearance of the pdf file when viewed on the screen, or is poor resolution one drawback of the Excel 'picture link' functionality? I've tried many different settings in the Adobe printer preferences (from within Excel) but haven't found a setting that results in a reasonable 'on-screen' appearance for the pdf file.
