I have a Pivot Table that provides me with total number of hours worked for each team. Each team has a different number of employees and each employee works a different number of hours...on several different occasions during the week. What I need to see is the average number of hours for each team, based on the number of employees and the hours they worked. For instance, in Team A, the total number of hours worked was 32.75 and there were 16 employees so I know the average is 2.05 hours but I would like my Pivot Table to show me that. I think I should be using a calculated field but so far, all my attempts have not been successful.

Right now, my Pivot Table lists the team names in Column A and the employee names are in Column B.

As always, any help is greatly appreciated!

How can you automate Excel?
Press Alt+F11 from Windows Excel to open the Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) editor.
Not sure without seeing the data, but can you not simply right-click the hours field, choose field settings and change it from Sum to Average?
