I've been able to copy pivot tables and paste them into a separate file until today. Today when I select the entire table copy then paste I only get the values not the funcitionality of the actual pivot table. Is there some setting in Excel that needs to be changed. Everything was fine until Excel crashed on me this morning.

Excel Facts

Will the fill handle fill 1, 2, 3?
Yes! Type 1 in a cell. Hold down Ctrl while you drag the fill handle.
liztarnold,
First, welcome to the board!

Did you have two instances of Excel open and were copying from one and pasting to the other (you may have opened Excel from the icon and then opened the first file, then open Excel again with an icon and opened the second file)?

In order to get the pivot table to copy with full functionality, you need to have both files open in the same instance of Excel. If Excel is opened twice the results are what you are describing.

Best of luck,

Charles
