Hi all,

My issue is this. I open a workbook containing a pivot table. When I select the pivot, the field list appears. I close the field list and save the file. Next time I open the file the field list appears again.

This is extremely annoying. Any time I select a cell in any pivot for the first time since opening the file, I have to close the field list because it is in the way.

How can I prevent this ?

Robert.

Excel Facts

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
I can see a ribbon group called PivotTable Analyse but not Analyse.

I can't see any fields list in that group.

There is Field List in the Show group, but that does the same as clicking the X and it comes back when you re-open file

If I unselect Field list as per your screen shot, when I reopen file it has become selected again

Did you save it or just close and reopen ?

just double checked on mine and saved - closed - opened and it remains unselected

I saved with the field hidden and it opens with the field visable
