Hello:

I often use Pivot tables with multiple different fields in the "Rows" area. When I'm done with the table....I usually copy and paste so I can do normal excel editing. However, Many cells show up as blank because it is is grouped. You can tell this by the border, yet I need to fill in all cells. Is there an option or easy way to do this other than "IF" statements? Thanks for your help. See example Below( I want to fill in "Ice Cream" next to each type instead of it showing blank) This is just an example...I really have a spreadsheet with 60K line items.

Food Type #

Ice Cream Chocolate 5
Vanillia 4
Cherry 2
Pizza Pepperoni 2
Sausage 2
Peppers 2

Excel Facts

Wildcard in VLOOKUP
Use =VLOOKUP("Apple*" to find apple, Apple, or applesauce
  1. Select the column with the blanks.
  2. Goto Edit>Goto...Special and select blanks.
  3. Goto the formula bar, enter =J1 (or whatever the first cell with data is) and then press CTRL+ENTER.
  4. Select the column, copy and paste special values.
