I have a pivot table which has a page filter such that

A checked
B unchecked
C checked

now every now and then i add data to the source data and the page filter has new filter such that

A checked
B unchecked
C checked
D unchecked

how to make sure that when data source is updated with new data and pivot is refreshed, the new data in the page filter is checked by default?

right now i have to check D all the time. and next time i have to checked E and so on ? is that possible?

How to show all formulas in Excel?
Press Ctrl+` to show all formulas. Press it again to toggle back to numbers. The grave accent is often under the tilde on US keyboards.
I may not 100% understand the question.

If I understand correctly, what about filtering the data either by adding a new field to the source data - to check if it is an "A checked" or "B unchecked" entry or not - and setting that new field as a page field so that only the records of interest are returned? Or, without adding a new field, filter the dataset via SQL in between the source data and the pivot table? The criteria in SQL might be like "WHERE fieldname IN ('A checked', 'B unchecked')". This can be set up when creating the pivot table via ALT-D-P and then choosing external data source at the first step, follow the wizard to the end then choose edit in MS Query.

HTH. regards

when i mean checked i mean ON, unchecked i mean OFF. so when new data is added i dont want the new data to be filter OFF but ON for the pivot table
