When I create a Pivot Table from the result of another I loose the result of the first pivot, but the second one has the right info. What and where is my first one gone ?
I have a 5 column list of parts, descriptions, prices, category and parent product on one sheet. The first pivot groups them by part as the same part can be used in many parent products. I then add two colums and a row so I can work out the annual requirement and value of each part. This works fine.
The problem occurs when I (try to) create a pivot table from the result of the first one. Each component fits in a category and I want to see the annual value of each category. For this pivot I set the range I want from the first pivot and keep going as I believe is the normal way. The result of this second pivot turns out perfect, except when I look back at the first pivot all the data is gone except for the row and the two calculated columns.
Anyone any idea were I'm going wrong.
Regards,
Ken
