Pivot Table Frustration

I am having trouble using the Grouping function in my Pivot Table. I have other Pivot Tables where this works perfectly, but I'm wondering if there is some limitation I'm not aware of.

Specifically, I have dates across the top of my Pivot Table. I'm trying to group them into Months if at all possible. On the left side of the table I have 5 different headings.

Is that causing my problems?

thanks in advance for any help.

Excel Can Read to You
Customize Quick Access Toolbar. From All Commands, add Speak Cells or Speak Cells on Enter to QAT. Select cells. Press Speak Cells.
I am not sure what is causing your problem, but as a work around I suggest you add a column to your data that uses the End of Month formula =EOM(cellref,0). You can then use this column as the header in your pivot table.

Pretty sure you are getting the message 'Cannot group that selection'. This means that you either:-

a) have blanks in your source data field for dates
b) have text values in your source data field for dates

Find / Fix / Forget :)
